John Carver feels Newcastle United's players are backing him for the permanent job.

Remy Cabella, Sammy Ameobi and Yoan Gouffran were on target as the visitors enjoyed an all-too comfortable victory at Hull City.

"I'd like to think the players want me," Carver said.

"People have come out in public and said what they think. It is okay talking about it, the evidence is in the performance and we got that performance."
