Veteran midfielder Michael Carrick is still waiting to hear news on his future at Manchester United.

The 34-year-old's current contract with the club expires in the summer, and he is not sure whether he will be staying at Old Trafford for another campaign with the Red Devils.

However, Carrick is hoping that following the arrival of Jose Mourinho as manager, the situation will become clearer by next week.

He told Sky Sports: "I'm not sure exactly the situation of who he is bringing in or anything like that just yet, we will have to wait and see on that one.

"For me, I'm hopeful, no news as of yet but we'll have to wait and see what happens next week."
