Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick was pleased with victory over Hull City.
Carrick believes Manchester United may have had a smoother start to the new season had Louis van Gaal been able to select from a fully fit squad.
"Our downfall this season is that we've had to change the team too much and we haven't had a consistent run with this squad," he told MUTV.
"Hopefully that will change now and it's nice to have a game so quick so we can keep that momentum going."
