Michael Carrick has made it clear that he never pondered leaving Manchester United earlier this summer.
The 34-year-old midfielder's future at Old Trafford was placed in question when the club signed Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin from Bayern Munich and Southampton respectively.
Carrick was a reported target for Newcastle United and Inter Milan and although he admits there was interest in him, he never even thought about leaving United.
"Yes, (but) it (leaving) is not something I thought about at all," Carrick said regarding the interest when speaking at the launch of Marathonbet as United's official betting partner.
"It has never been an issue."
Carrick, who has been with United since 2006, started in Saturday's season opener at home against Tottenham before being replaced by Germany skipper Schweinsteiger in the 60th minute of the 1-0 win.
