Michael Carrick has been assured he has a future with Manchester United.
The Daily Star says Carrick's contract is up next summer and there were fears he could be forced out after new boss Louis van Gaal brought in Daley Blind this summer.
But sources close to Carrick, 33, insist he has been given firm assurances he is still a big part of Van Gaal's plans for the future.
United have an option to extend the centre midfielder's contract for another year and have told him they intend to do just that.
