Michael Carrick admits the "roof caved in" at Manchester United after defeat at Olympiacos.
Carrick believes now it's the perfect opportunity to turn things around and show what they are made of.
Carrick said: "I hope so. It's an important time of the season. It's that time when you have to perform and get results. This is the time.
"The roof sort of caved in against Olympiakos. Everyone came out of the woodwork and criticised us but that's something you have to deal with.
"We had a long time to ponder it. Even though lads went off around the world on internationals, it still doesn't get out of your system."
