Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has warned the club's American owners that airing their dirty laundry in public is not the 'Liverpool way'.
And he echoed the Koppites in condemning the move as being out of line with the Liverpool way.
He said: "It's not the way we have done things in the past. And you would want the old way to continue because we have to pull together and focus on the league, FA Cup and Champions League."
Yet while the world has been waiting for a reaction from Benitez, Carragher insisted it has been business as usual for the boss.
He revealed: "Rafa takes a bit of criticism for the teams he picks but we haven't noticed a change in him. It has just kept on going as normal - we train and get on with it."
