Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes teenage fullback John Flanagan will be an inspiration to his pals in the Academy.
Flanagan has been outstanding since making his first team breakthrough earlier this year.
"What Flanno has done is to give everyone at the academy and club generally a lot of hope," said Carragher.
"Supporters want to see local lads progress but more importantly for the lads hoping to progress they now think 'Well, Flanno's done it, so can I'.
"He's in the team on merit now and has shown he is capable of playing out of his comfort zone (at left-back against Newcastle and Fulham)."
