David Carney has returned to Blackpool for a pre-season trial.
The 29-year old Australian winger has been without a club since departing Uzbekistan outfit Bunyodkor about a year ago and is getting the opportunity to prove himself with the Seasiders.
Carney turned out for Paul Ince's side in a recent friendly with Morecambe and the Bloomfield Road boss will continue to run the rule over him and other players training with the Championship club.
"I want to give the trial players a chance to play in a game before making a decision on them," he told the Blackpool Gazette.
"I don't like calling them trialists as some of them have played at a very high level. But I'll have a final look at them this week before making a decision, then I can sit back and look at what I've got here."
Carney, who has represented Australia on 46 occasions, has spent time with Everton, Oldham Athletic, Hamilton Academical, Sydney FC, Sheffield United, Norwich City (loan), FC Twente, Blackpool, AD Alcocorn and Bunyodkor throughout his club career.
