Carlos Carvalhal admits differences with Celta Vigo directors led to him leaving.
Though he had a deal to 2024, the Portuguese coach left Celta at the end of the season.
"What I said is to take a step forward, fight for other objectives, create other types of conditions you must have stability in the club to achieve results. That ended up weighing in the final decision," he told RTP.
"Things were resolved in a minute, I wanted to fight for other objectives.
"We had a very difficult start because the team had come off five or six consecutive defeats. We managed to give the team solidity, and after the World Cup we already saw the Celta we wanted."
