Carling Cup final will not distract Liverpool from FA Cup task - Dalglish

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish insists the clubs upcoming Carling Cup final will not detract from tomorrow's FA Cup clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds take on Crystal Palace at Wembley on February 26 in the league cup but first have to negotiate the Seagulls at Anfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup tomorrow.

Prior to Liverpool's successful Carling Cup semi-final against Manchester City last month, Dalglish's side lost 3-1 at home to Bolton and the Reds boss is aware of the type of result occurring again.

"There's no-one here who enjoyed what happened at Bolton and I wouldn't see any reason why anyone would want to repeat that," he said.

"Every one of them wants to get into the next round but they can't expect that if they repeat the Bolton performance.

"I think they have got that Bolton game out of their system now. If they don't play as well as they're capable of it's not because the final is coming the following week.

"The target for us is to progress into the next round of the FA Cup."
