Cardiff City defender Anthony Gerrard says he'll forever be haunted by his Carling Cup final shootoout miss against Liverpool.

Gerrard was distraught after sending his spot-kick the wrong side of Pepe Reina's right post to hand the Carling Cup to Liverpool following a nerve-jangling shootout.

Gerrard, 26, tweeted: "Sorry to everyone.

"I can't close my eyes without seeing that penalty.

"It's going to haunt me for the rest of my days. My head is mashed!"
