Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda is backing Ravel Morrison for success with Lazio.

The pair played together with Manchester United.

Former Lazio junior Macheda told Radio Sei: "He came on loan to Cardiff.

"He's very technical, he is certainly a player similar to Gattuso. If you find him on the right day, he can hurt anyone . He has had some problems off the field that did not allow him to explode, he was right to leave England.

"He is not a winger, he is best played behind the strikers or in a midfield three."
