Cardiff City are chasing after striker Mbwana Samatta from Gent.

Another target is Emiliano Sala, but they see Samatta as a backup, should they not be able to complete that deal.

The news comes out of Wales Online.

No bid has been made yet, but the interest is very real. Samatta has 15 goals in the league in 20 games, along with 3 Europa League goals.

Sala has also been in impressive form with Nantes, scoring 12 in Ligue 1 this term.

Cardiff also want to sign a right back, but no player has been named as a possible target.
