The Football League are set to lose one of their major sponsors this week in the form of American credit card company Capital One.

According to the Daily Mail, Capital One will not be renewing their sponsorship of the League Cup when their four-year deal expires at the end of next season.

The loss of a £5.5m-a-year title sponsorship will come as a significant blow for the Football League, who will hope it doesn't take them too long to find a successor, as the Football Association did before Emirates agreed to sponsor the FA Cup.
