CAPITAL ONE CUP SEMI-FINAL 2nd LEG: Villa wins but Bradford book final berth

Bradford City have progressed to the final of the 2012/13 Capital One Cup for the first time in their history.

The League Two outfit were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa at Villa Park tonight but made it through to the Wembley decider 4-3 on aggregate following their 3-1 win at home a fortnight ago.

Christian Benteke opened the scoring for Villa with a 24th-minute header before James Hanson levelled the score ten minutes into the second half with a header of his own from a Gary Jones corner.

Andreas Weimann gave the Premier League club a faint glimmer of hope when he fired home in the 89th minute but the Bantams had earlier done the damage and now await Swansea City or Chelsea in the February 24 final.

In reaching the final, Bradford have become the first club from the lowest tier in English football since Rochdale in 1962 to do so.
