Italy World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro has praised coach Roberto Mancini for unearthing Mateo Retegui.
The Tigre striker struck twice in his first games for Italy last week.
Former Juventus captain Cannavaro said: "The problem of forwards in the national team has always been there, it's phases.
"Plus, then we will have to see in defence when (Leonardo) Bonucci leaves the national team after Giorgio (Chiellini) has already done so. The problem is that somewhere you have to go and find the forwards, Mancini did well, Retegui made himself available.
"But the thing is not solved now, anyway."
