Fabio Cannavaro is willing to wait to discuss a new contract at Real Madrid.

The Italy captain's current deal expires in June and he said: "I am happy at Madrid, but it is still too early to renew.

"Here I am happy, I'm with the most famous club in the world.

"The club is in a difficult situation, they've lost the president ... it is not the time to talk about renewal. We must wait and see what happens."
