Canizares: No-one at Real Madrid wanted Keylor Navas to leave

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Santiago Canizares says no-one wanted Keylor Navas to leave.

Keylor was sold by Real to PSG on transfer deadline day on Monday.

Canizares told L'Equipe: "This season, the club has relied on (Thibaut) Courtois and did not allow Keylor the opportunity to prove that he was at the level or better.

"Everyone wanted to keep him, especially (coach Zinedine) Zidane, but they were somewhat indebted to him and, from a moral point of view, they were forced to let him go. This is an excellent recruit for Paris. He's better than any goalkeeper PSG has had in recent seasons."
