Canadian youngster Bekker signs MLS deal

Young Canadian midfielder Kyle Bekker has signed a contract with Major League Soccer.

The 22-year old Boston College ace will now go into the MLS Combine with the view to being selected in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft on January 17.

"I'm happy to get it done and sorted and go to the combine and draft and see where I'm going to end up," Bekker told the Canadian Press.

Bekker, who has already trialled with Crystal Palace, says he hopes he can be picked up by a club where he can flourish as an attacking midfielder.

"First and foremost for me, just a team that plays a good brand of soccer that fits with the type of player I am," he added. "Somewhere where I can be put into a position where I'm going to do well.

"Playing in the middle of the park and getting on the ball and controlling the game is what I like to do."
