Sol Campbell could be set for a return to Arsenal about four years after he last played for the club he won two Premierships and three FA Cups with.

The former England defender is in the mix for a short-term deal with the Gunners but only if Arsene Wenger can sell Swiss centre-half Philippe Senderos.

The 35-year old has been training with his former club since walking away from a lucrative deal with League Two outfit Notts County and has impressed Wenger with his fitness, determination and desire over the past two months.

Campbell could join the Gunners as a free agent and is currently delaying a decision on other offers to see if he can be given a second opportunity in England's top flight.
