Sol Campbell enjoyed a Newcastle United debut in last night's reserves fixture with Sunderland.
Campbell jogged through his Newcastle United debut last night, playing just the first half of a reserve match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The 35-year-old former England defender was barely extended by the home side's young strikers Jordan Cook and Ryan Noble as Newcastle raced into a two-goal lead before the break.
Campbell was taunted by Sunderland supporters for being overweight.
Campbell said: "I was a bit blowy for the first 10 minutes, but it soon comes back to you and it was good to feel the ball again in a competitive match.
"It's coming together. I'll be pushing to play in the Blackpool game in a couple of weeks."
