Calderwood wants Aberdeen assurances before signing deal

Calderwood wants to know where multi-millionaire chairman Stewart Milne and his fellow directors see the club heading before signing any contract extension.

He said: "You can never be certain about what is around the corner but I'm happy at Aberdeen and certainly not looking to leave in a hurry.

"The fans know as well as I do that this sort of speculation [about a move to Leicester City] goes on in football all of the time, whether it be about managers or players. I will never be unhappy at Aberdeen. You can't be unhappy at such a great club, that's got nothing to do with what has gone on over the last few days.

"I just need to know what the ambitions of the club are now. I want to know if we are going to be going further than we have so far.

"It's not about financial gains for me or anyone else. It's about seeing where we all want to go to and how we are going to get there.

"I've not finished the job I set out to do at Aberdeen. You can't rest on your laurels and I want to see how far the club are willing to take things."
