Calderon feels betrayed by ex-Real Madrid coach Schuster

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has warned members against voting for Florentino Perez. "Real Madrid is a very complicated, devouring club presidents, coaches and players," said Calderon. "And he (Perez) did not want to continue with Iker Casillas or Raul.

"Iker was only renewed in the last minute because Florentino wanted to sign (Juventus goalkeeper Gigi) Buffon."

Calderon admits he felt betrayed by Bernd Schuster after the former Real coach's criticism of the transfer policy this season.

"It gives me great trouble because I gave everything to Schuster," he said. "He had coached teams from the second level and found himself coach of Real Madrid against the advice of almost everyone. Many thought that Fabio Capello should continue.

"I do not regret having brought him, but I'm hurt by his statements. He was unable to handle the team and adopted a position of neglect.

"He was the one who wanted to bring in Javier Saviola and then has not played him. He wanted to bring Christian Poulsen and Luis Fabiano - he was asking insistently."
