Torino president Urbano Cairo admits fans were unhappy with their summer sales.
Alessio Cerci was sold to Atletico Madrid and Ciro Immobile to Borussia Dortmund.
Cairo said: "They both wanted to leave and if a player doesn't want to stay, it's best for everyone if he goes, otherwise he could damage the team.
"I get on well with Alessio and I'm disappointed he only left on deadline day, but I did sell him for 15m. Would I have Cerci back? I don't know, I'm not a fan of comebacks. He remains a great player.
"As for Immobile, I haven't heard from him. He's doing very well in the Champions League, but the whole Borussia Dortmund squad is struggling domestically."
