Cahill earns Melbourne City their first silverware

Tim Cahill scored the winner as Melbourne City won their first trophy with a 1-0 victory against Sydney FC in Australia's FA Cup final.

The 36 year old headed in the decisive goal shortly after half-time.

"It hitting my head is the story of my life," said Cahill. "People will say he's done it again but that's why I play. I play for moments like that."

The game was watched by a record cup final crowd of 18,751 in Melbourne.

It was City's first silverware since being formed as Melbourne Heart in 2009.
