Cahill to concentrate on Everton this summer

Australian national team star Tim Cahill insists he will focus on club duties this summer. The 31-year old Everton forward will not travel back home for June's international friendly with Serbia as he strives to get over a foot injury that has plagued him all season.

Cahill has played just one of the Toffees' last six matches and was also forced to miss the Socceroos' recent 2-1 victory over Germany on Monchengladbach and he admitted to The World Game that he will spend this summer getting himself right for his club.

"I've played seven years with no rest in the summer, probably more, and I wouldn't change it for the world because I've got a foot problem, but I'm buzzing," he said. "This is the best league in the world, I love football, I love playing for my country but also commonsense has to prevail.

"I missed the Germany game and I will probably miss the next couple of games because they're friendlies.

"For me, when it's a competition where you can win something or get something out of it I will be back playing but at the moment my main focal point is the Premier League and obviously doing well for my club."
