Cagliari coach Claudio Ranieri says Napoli deserved their win on Saturday.

Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck for Napoli, with Leonardo Pavoletti equalising for Cagliari.

“When there are champions who can turn a game, we just have to tip our hats to them," Ranieri told DAZN.

“In our best period of the game, they scored two goals. It's a pity, but we are improving and must continue like this. We knew it was going to be tough this season, as the play-offs delayed preparation, but my players want so much to secure safety. My work will be completed when I have saved this team.

“Their midfielders were pushing up and we were unable to cover Augello, but in the second half we had some good passing moves and good chances to score. It was better to have Luvumbo off the bench because if I need to spark things to life, he or Oristanio can light that touchpaper. He is fresh when his opponents are tired and can do damage."
