Cadiz reach terms with Barcelona and Sevilla for Luuk de Jong

Luuk de Jong is on his way to Cadiz next week.

Mundo Deportivo says Barçelona, Sevilla and Cádiz have reached an agreement for the loan of De Jong to the Gaditanos.

The Dutch striker will remain with Cádiz for the remainder of the season. De Jong doesn't figure in Xavi's plans and now all the remains for the deal to go though is the player's consent.

Barça have cut short the loan agreement they had in place with De Jong while Cádiz have accepted to take the player on similar terms to the end of the current season.

With De Jong's departure, Barça will reduce their salary bill which will help them in their plan to bring in Ferran Torres during next month's transfer window.

De Jong joined Barcelona on the final day of last summer's transfer window on a one-year loan, due to expire in June 2022. However, the player has not met expectations. He has made just nine appearances in LaLiga (three of them in the starting XI) and scored just one goal.

He has played in three Champions League games, in which he didn't find the net.
