Borussia Dortmund are hopeful of beating Tottenham in the pursuit of Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze, according to the Daily Mirror.

The North London club recently made an approach to sign the German international, who has fallen out of favour with the Bundesliga champions.

However, the Mirror believes that the 24-year-old is inclined on moving back to his former club in a bid to revive his career.

Gotze, who left Dortmund to join Bayern in 2013, is valued at £20million by his current club.
