Borussia Dortmund boss manager Edin Terzic has publicly apologised to Marco Reus.
The veteran attacker, who is being linked to Manchester United on a free transfer, was not used against Chelsea in the Champions League.
Dortmund won the home leg of the round of 16 tie 1-0, but Reus surprisingly did not make it onto the field.
Terzic told DAZN: "Of course, I'm deeply sorry.
"But it's not just about Marco. We also had other guys who didn't come on.
"He has to respect it. But don't accept it.
"He can show tomorrow in training and in the next few games that he doesn't accept it.
"But right now he has to respect it like everyone else."
