Bury have snapped up released Sunderland goalkeeper Trevor Carson.

Carson, 24, was included on the Black Cats' released list last week and has signed a two-year deal at Gigg Lane.

The Northern Irish under-21 international joined Sunderland from Killyleagh Boys in 2004 but didn't make a senior appearance despite a number of spells on the substitutes' bench.
