Sunderland are set to send goalkeeper Trevor Carson away on-loan.

Carson is to return to Npower League One side Bury on loan until 3rd April 2012, subject to Premier League clearance.

The Northern Irish stopper initially joined the Shakers in September 2011, making eight appearances during a two-month spell at Gigg Lane.

After returning to Wearside, Carson headed to Npower Championship outfit Hull City in January 2012 but didn't make a first team appearance for the Tigers.
