Burnley forward Andre Gray charged by Football Association with misconduct in respect of social media comments made between 9 January 2012 and 11 March 2012.

The 25-year-old asked for 'forgiveness' at the weekend after a series of homophobic tweets came to light.

Gray said he was now a "completely different person" to the one who posted the messages and he did not "hold the beliefs written in those tweets".

The player has until 6pm on 31 August to respond to the charge.
