Burnley re-sign New Zealand youngster Howieson

English Championship club Burnley have re-signed young midfielder Cameron Howieson.

The 19-year old New Zealand native has penned a one-year contract extension with the Clarets after originally joining the senior team via the youth academy in 2012.

Howieson, who has represented the All Whites on seven occasions, has not played for Burnley since the 2011/12 season but is seen as a player of the future at Turf Moor.

He spent time on loan with Doncaster Rovers last year but failed to see any first team action in South Yorkshire.

Attacking midfielder Howieson and the Clarets could be on their way to the Premier League next season as the Lancashire outfit currently sits second on the Championship table, eight points clear of third-placed Derby County.
