Burnley have failed with an attempt for Tottenham defender Eric Dier.

The England international is up for sale at Spurs with less than a year to run on his existing deal.

The Sun says Burnley have made an approach about a loan arrangement - but were knocked back by Spurs.

Tottenham prefer an outright sale given Dier's contract status.

Bayern Munich are also interested in Dier before tomorrow's deadline.
