Burnley boss Steve Cotterill insists he is "chuffed" to see 14-year-old prospect John Cofie being linked with Manchester United or Chelsea.

A report in a Sunday newspaper claimed that Cofie could be on his way to either of the Premier League big-guns in a £1million move.

Cotterill insists the club are eager to see the highly-rated teenage striker remain at Turf Moor for the foreseeable future, but says he is not fazed by the speculation.

Cotterill said: "To be honest, I'm actually quite chuffed about it.

"I never had anyone phoning about anybody when I first came here, and now we've got some really good young players that everybody wants.

"We're quite flattered by that at Burnley really."
