Burnley boss Dyche thrilled with addition of Jamaican winger Richards

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is excited about the chance to deploy exciting winger Dane Richards.

The 29-year old Jamaican international joined the Clarets when Eddie Howe was in charge and made an impressive debut in the weekend's FA Cup loss to Barnsley.

Dyche admits he is looking forward to seeing more of the former New York Red Bull and Vancouver Whitecaps man as Burnley chase a playoff promotion place in the Championship.

"He's shown directness and that can be a real weapon in football," the Turf Moor boss told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We felt Saturday's game needed that burst of energy down the right-hand side to stretch the pitch.

"We wanted to try to get him an introduction. We got that and he looked effervescent when he came on and stretched the pitch for us, and got a little chance and affected things.

"It's early days yet but we'll see how it goes."
