Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists Andy Carroll should've been sent off during their win over Newcastle United.
Ref Tim Robinson chose to book Carroll but Dyche suggested the Newcastle captain was fortunate.
"I was surprised that Andy Carroll stayed on the pitch," Dyche said. "If you lean an elbow and it's too high and too late you probably get sent off in the modern game.
'I don't think there was any malice in it. It is loose and usually it is a red card."
Carroll has previous at Burnley. Two years ago he was given two yellow cards in quick succession for elbows on Mee and James Tarkowski while playing for West Ham.
Tarkowski looked like being forced off with an ankle injury after two Joelinton tackles but continued. Dyche praised the defender's fortitude.
"Tarky took a couple of knocks," Dyche said. "We had nothing on the bench. Tarky and Mee were strong."
