Burnley are upset over the departure of Owen Coyle's former backroom staff for Bolton Wanderers.
The News of the World says the Clarets are looking into legal action against former manager Coyle's backroom team for joining Bolton.
Coaches Steve Davis and Phil Hughes were put in charge at Turf Moor after Coyle left but both quit on January 10 to rejoin their old boss at Wanderers.
And the Clarets have hired a firm of solicitors to check if the move was in breach of their contracts.
Burnley chairman Barry Kilby was unhappy with the way his former boss left the club he took into the Premier League last summer.
