Southampton are set to pass on signing permanently Kevin Danso.

Saints coughed up €4m to take the defender on-loan from Augsburg, but have since allowed his permanent option of €8m to expire.

A return to Germany next season is likely for the Austria international, says Sky Deutschland.

Werder Bremen, FC Köln, Hamburg SV and VfB Stuttgart are all keen on Danso ahead of the summer market.

For Saints, the defender has managed just six Premier League appearances this season.
