Bryan Ruiz is determined to hit the ground running at Fulham.
From rivals in the Netherlands to colleagues in west London, Fulham boss Martin Jol describes Ruiz as "the best player in Holland' and his star signing is confident he will help his new club to a first win of the season.
The likeable 26-year-old, who turned down Newcastle to sign for Fulham, added: "I know Fulham have paid a lot, but it was the same when I went to Twente as their most expensive transfer and it was big pressure.
"I just tried to do my best, as I did with Gent in Belgium. I am a guy who likes to take responsibility and I like that pressure.
"I always wanted to play in the best league in the world and Martin Jol convinced me Fulham was the right club. He wants to combine the Dutch style with the English and he thinks I can do that here."
