Italian super agent Enzo Bronzetti has revealed AC Milan beat Tottenham to the signing of former CSKA Moscow attacker Keisuke Honda.
The Japan international has arrived from CSKA on a Bosman.
Bronzetti revealed to Mediaset: "Tottenham had offered 8 million for the player, but the club did not want to do business because they thought they could reach the Champions League knockout stages and collect the same amount.
"Then that did not happen as we all know."
He added: "There was also Manchester City and even Barcelona, but it did not develop much because it was just commercial talk. The guy just wanted AC Milan and has put his foot down several times because he just wanted the Rossoneri in Italy."
