Broadfoot happy to work with Rangers pair Weir, Cuellar

Kirk Broadfoot is delighted with his early season form for Rangers.

The defender is enjoying working with older heads David Weir and Carlos Cuellar and said: "Guys like David Weir are great to learn from.

"Big Davie is an inspiration to me.

"I was impressed by him even last season when I was still at St Mirren. Then, coming in to Murray Park, I've had the chance to work alongside him in training and in games. He is a brilliant professional who looks after himself so well and I can only learn from someone like that. The way he plays the game is impressive and it looks like he is the same age as me out there.

"Carlos has come in and, for a foreigner, has handled everything very well. He's a good defender, aggressive and can attack the ball in the air. He has settled in quickly but I actually think our game suits him right down to the ground because he is powerful and quick.

"We've Andy Webster, another Scotland internationalist, waiting for a chance so there are options in the squad for the manager."
