Brisbane's Oar not reading into Utrecht trial too much

Brisbane Roar youngster Tommy Oar says he is not reading into his three-week trial with Dutch club FC Utrecht too much. The 18-year old, along with Roar teammates Michael Zullo and Adam Sarota, are preparing to travel to Holland to undergo training with the Eredivisie club but Oar, who made his international debut earlier this month, is remaining calm on his European prospects.

"I'm still contracted to the Roar for one more year, but I've just got to take things as they come and see what happens," said Oar.

"I don't think things can happen too fast, but things can happen really quickly, so I've just got to keep working hard and make sure it doesn't stop."

Former Roar coach Frank Farina had a similar mindset to Oar, saying nothing was certain when undertaking trials such as this but did admit that Utrecht's director of football Foeke Booy had contacted him personally in regards to the winger.

"We had a long conversation, he was asking me about Tommy," Farina revealed.

"If they like what they see when he goes over there, who knows what might be the outcome?

"If nothing else, this is going to be a great experience for the three of them."
