Australian international Matt McKay is moving closer to a dream switch to Scottish champions Rangers says his agent. The 28-year old Brisbane Roar captain was reportedly impressed after a guided tour of the Glasgow giants' Murray Park training complex, led by manager Ally McCoist, and it looks as though a move to the club could be completed soon.
McKay is in the UK for Australia's friendly with Wales in Cardiff on Wednesday and according to his representative, John Viola, could be a Rangers player sometime next week, however, a deal will not be finalised before Monday's Europa League deadline.
"Matt liked what he saw of Rangers during his time in Glasgow," said Viola in the Daily Record.
"There is no chance of anything being completed before the deadline on Monday but talks are progressing well."
McKay has had a meteoric rise in the past few seasons, going from consistent A-League performer to key Socceroos midfielder, and is now on the verge of joining the Scottish powerhouse.
