Brighton want to retain Man City youngster Assulin

Brighton boss Gus Poyet is hopeful of keeping Manchester City loanee Gai Assulin for the Championship promotion run-in. The 20-year-old winger's current loan spell is scheduled to end after Saturday's trip to Blackpool.

Poyet told The Argus: "I think we've got a great chance to keep him but everybody needs to be happy, the player, Man City and us, so we'll see. We will sort it out this week.

"It's up to him. He knows where he stands, what he can achieve and the options. I already had a chat with him last week and we'll have another chat in the next couple of days."
