Brighton star Danny Welbeck has explained the 'T' celebration that he showcased during a 4-0 win over West Ham United.

The Albion showcased their quality under boss Roberto Di Zerbi, besting David Moyes' relegation threatened Hammers with ease.

Welbeck was in the thick of the action, with fans wondering about the origins of his unique celebration after scoring.

He stated, per the club website: “I was walking past the academy gym last week and there were a couple of under-12s and 13s in there.

“They were gassed to see me and so I went in and had a chat with them.

“One of the kids was called Tate and he said 'the next goal you score, please do a T for me!' I've not seen him yet, but I am excited to know his reaction."
