Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour seeking loan exit

Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour is open to a loan move away in January.

The ex-Chelsea youngster was sold to the Seagulls in the summer for a fee of around £9million.

But he has failed to establish himself in the team and he is still waiting for his first league start.

Gilmour, 21, was signed by ex-boss Graham Potter and has played just five times since his arrival on the south coast.

Brighton chief Paul Barber admitted that Potter's exit was not ideal for Gilmour as he was a player he wanted to bring into the team slowly and new manager Roberto De Zerbi appears less keen.

The Scot could therefore leave the club in January on loan, says The Sun.

He is open to moving away from the Premier League for regular game time and the midfielder would even consider a move to another country.
