Brighton chief Barber: Potter leaving not optimal for Gilmour

Brighton chief exec Paul Barber acknowledges Billy Gilmour has found himself in a difficult position.

Gilmour left Chelsea for Brighon in part to play for manager Graham Potter, who has since moved to Stamford Bridge.

Barber told SussexLive: "It is not optimal for Billy that Graham left the club so soon after we signed him.

"But my experience of working with professional footballers for the last 25 years is that they are resilient and pragmatic.

"The short time I have spoken to Billy is that he is a very calm and very mature young man."
